I used AsiaRooms before. So sad that it decided to close. Looks like it is not easy operating a profitable online travel business. Surprised too that no one wanted to buy it over. Interesting to see what will happen to AsiaTravel.com in the years ahead.... AsiaRooms.com closes doors after losing money for seven years - 16 April 2015 When it was operational, AsiaRooms.com’s website said it operated in approximately 180 countries, serving more than 30 million customers in over 20 source markets, and employing about 48,000 people worldwide.

I remember using Asiaroom once or twice for booking rooms in Europe a few years ago. I also remember their rates were not so good for hotels in Asia.
I have checked my hotel booking for the last few years, I used Hotels.com and Booking.com most of the times outside China and ctrip for hotels in China. For hotels outside China, typically I will go to tripadvisor.com and select the online hotel booking websites from there. I think the biggest beneficiary is tripadvisor.
