Yet the legal industry experiences embarrassingly high attrition rates, with 3 out of 4 local lawyers leaving practice within the first 10 years. If attractive salaries aren’t enough to keep them in practice, something must be wrong.

If more lawyer leave the industry, then this will leads to supply crunch. As a result, those stay on have to shoulder more job load and that's why they have to work long hours. On the other hand, why so much job load for lawyer? With today IT, it should help lawyer to be more productive and efficient. No? Soon, we will see G 'import' more lawyers to SG, similar to medical doctors as we can see most of them in public hospitals.
