Customer’s details leaked on Singtel app after software glitchTODAY reports: The personal information of one customer was published on the My Singtel app after a software glitch, according to the telco. SINGAPORE: A software glitch led to the personal information of one customer being published on the My Singtel app on Monday (Feb 29), the telco said. Singtel is trying to contact the affected customer, a company spokesperson said on Tuesday in a Facebook post. "We would like to assure customers that this is an isolated incident and their account security has not been compromised," a Singtel statement added. --- Seems like something minor, though generally speaking, we'll probably see even more of such incidents with the world getting more connected. As far as I'm concerned, data security will be a huge issue and market in the decades to come. Also, as much as ICT companies like to claim, there's no way to ensure absolute data security and anonymity, from dating apps (e.g. Ashley Madison) to location services (e.g. GPS-based ERP). Having to live with such uncertainties will be the morn.
