Yet another one.... Investors caught in '$60m ponzi scam' - 24 May 2015 "We just trusted her because of the testimonies of those who knew her for a long time," said the 50-year-old, who put in $1 million and introduced several friends to the programme.

I remembered this case, in year 2007 or 2008, he quickly put up his bungalow at upper thomson road for sale, news was on front page...so buyers just walked up his house to give offer, i think deal was sealed within a week. But i do not understand..why was he doing all that? when he had not funds to complete the takeover.. he thought he can get away with it? so strange people..sigh.

I too recall this case. It has been 7 years and there has been no closure yet.
I guess, when your net worth is tied to "mark-to-market" prices (yes, not value), and that they are tumbling down in a short time, he probably thought a temporary measure (albeit illegal) is warranted to tide him over.
Do you remember the Marina Bay Sands boss Sheldon Adelson was also running into some trouble then? I wonder how he managed to pull through? Did someone bail him out?

oldman, I believe a person's character won't change overnight. Anthony Soh is a true blue Singaporean who had benefited and succeeded in life under the leadership of the PAP "old guard". Compare to the current generation, the "pioneer generation" of Singapore were blessed to be born in an era where opportunities were plentiful then. In short, it is insatiable greed that causes him to go astray and lose his sight — Gerald lost his last chance to make a comeback in life due to greed.'How can a victim be a culprit overnight? ~ 13 Apr 2008 「势不可去尽,话不可说尽,福不可享尽,规则不可行尽。凡事太尽,缘分势必早尽。 」
