Advertisements are finally here... Yes, sadly. I will be monitoring the pageviews over the next few weeks. Though this site is only 2 weeks old, it is already averaging 2,000 pageviews a day. Problem with the the ad free option is that this is based on the number of pageviews. So, the more popular the site becomes, the more expensive it will be to keep it ad free. My hope is that this site develops slowly over the next few months as I rather have everything in place first before the traffic gets too heavy to manage alone. Let me observe for the next few weeks before deciding.

With your experience and knowledge, it should be easy for you to design your own forum.

I will be moving the discussions on the adverts here. Yes, it is easy to install and host a forum but the headaches will come when the traffic increases as scaling is not as easy as it sounds. When the forum software crashes, as it often does, then one must have the skills to bring it back up with minimal loss of postings. This frankly is not so easy at times. Also, there are issues of spam registrations and advertisements if one installs and host the forum himself. I have faced many of these issues before. Most likely, I will purchase the ad free option at the start of next month as the strange thing about this hosting provider is that one has to purchase it on a month to month basis. One cannot just buy 50,000 pageviews as these pageviews will revert to zero the following month. In case you are all wondering, I am really not that interested in putting any other adverts on this site. I rather focus on building a strong community first. Guess, this is more like a hobby to me and I am having fun. Mr Market finances my hobbies.

Fortunately, they have a pro-rated payment for this month and hence, this forum will now be advert free for up to 50,000 pageviews a month. When the number of pageviews per month increase, I will sort it out then. I am more than happy to be a paying member as their support is just splendid.

After you pay for the ad free version, the users will not see the adverts placed by the hosting providers at all?

After you pay for the ad free version, the users will not see the adverts placed by the hosting providers at all? Yes, no more adverts, no more "Hosted by...." , no more "buy ad-free" and no more gift tabs! .... until the pageviews exceed the 50,000 per month or the prorated amount for the next few days...... Good night folks.

Mr Market finances my hobbies. Hi oldman, Kind of uncomfortable for me to address by your username. To me, it seems inappropriate (disrespect to me) though the term is generally utilised by older couple. Your sharing ("Mr Market finances my hobbies) reminded me of a friend who mentioned the incredible power of tapping on Mr Market as ATM.

The pageviews for this forum has been steadily increasing. So much so that it is likely to exceed the 50,000 pageviews a month by next month. When that happens, I am likely to pay a bit more to increase the free pageviews without advertisements. However, there will come a time when only members will have advertisement free pages. Guess, I will figure that out when the time comes.

This forum was strongly recommended to me by someone in another forum, more focus on TA and intraday trading. I'm more comfortable with the forum layout here than there, which I had just joined in mid-Sep 2013. I'm glad to be given an opportunity to store my stocks charts in alphabetical order and also to express my personal thoughts at the right place. Keep up the good work and thanks once again. 人生若只如初见,何事秋风悲画扇。 等闲变却故人心,却道故心人易变。 骊山语罢清宵半,泪雨零铃终不怨。 何如薄幸锦衣郎,比翼连枝当日愿。Life is short, move forward, don't look back.

Zuolun, thanks for the kind words. Thanks too for making the forum a more interesting place. Your postings remind me very much of my time as a trader using TA. If I read your charts correctly, you too are not that optimistic on the market direction. Thank you for your invaluable time and effort as a moderator of this forum. Chart is similar to a compass if one knows how to use it correctly and it is extremely important to people who're lost in the high sea; trying to find the right direction to safety. pertama.freeforums.net/post/1058/quote/243
