The flood would have spoilt my mood to proceed with the wedding. Applause to the couple who view the flood as a minor obstacle & proceed with their wedding celebration. Floods fail to deter couple from their weddingNew Straits Times , Friday, Dec 06, 2013 RANTAU PANJANG - What is a little bit of flooding when it's your special day? For Mohd Muslim Mohd Zaki, 20, and Sauba Osman, 18, having the latter's house in Kampung Telaga Mas inundated meant that their wedding feast could not be held there. But the couple took things in their stride, refusing to cancel the event. They left the groom's house in Kampung Pusu Sireh in Lubuk Setol, which was also flooded, by boat and were then given a lift in a fire engine to the house of one of Sauba's neighbours, who had agreed to host the reception. news.asiaone.com/news/malaysia/floods-fail-deter-couple-their-wedding

Cannot imagine a 10 years old girl could be so vicious to perform such an appalling act on a mere 18-months toddler. Reminded me of a bully who used to terrorise my boy & his classmates in kindergarten 7 years ago. He utilise the pencil to cut on the neck of 1 girl who had high fever & vomited in the midnight & another instance, utilise string to operate on the neck of another boy. No charges to be filed in toddler attackA Chinese girl was caught on camera brutally beating a toddler before apparently throwing him off the 25th floor of a building to his death. The 18-month-old toddler, Li Xinyuan, remained in the intensive care unit at Chongqing Medical University Children's Hospital on Friday, awaiting his first surgical operation next week to deal with his injuries. Local police neither detained the girl nor filed their investigative findings with prosecutors - which, in a case involving an older assailant would mark the start of a criminal prosecution. In this case, the attacker's young age shields her from criminal charges, the police said. news.asiaone.com/news/crime/no-charges-be-filed-toddler-attackwww.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/527799/20131205/china-baby-killed-beaten-lift-elevator-girl.htm

The price of "beauty". Cosmetic surgery addict injected cooking oil into her own face
A Korean woman addicted to plastic surgery has been left unrecognisable after her obsession led her to inject cooking oil into her face. Hang Mioku, now 48, had her first plastic surgery procedure when she was 28; hooked from the beginning she moved to Japan where she had further operations - mostly to her face. Following operation after operation, her face was eventually left enlarged and disfigured, but she would still look at herself in the mirror and think she was beautiful.
Eventually the surgeons she visited refused to carry out any more work on her and one suggested that her obsession could be a sign of a psychological disorder. When she returned home to Korea the surgery meant Hang's features had changed so much that her own parents didn't recognise her.
After realising that the girl with the grossly swollen face was indeed their daughter her horrified parents took her to a doctor. Once again the possibility that Hang had a mental disorder was raised and she started treatment. When her supply of silicone ran out Hang resorted to injecting cooking oil into her face.
Her face became so grotesquely large that she was called "standing fan" by children in her neighbourhood - due to her large face and small body. As Hang's notoriety spread she was featured on Korean TV. Viewers seeing the report took mercy on her and sent in enough donations to enable her to have surgery to reduce the size of her face. During the first procedure surgeons removed 60g of foreign substance from Hang's face and 200g from her neck. After several other sessions her face was left greatly reduced but still scarred and disfigured. And it would seem that even Hang can now see the damage she has done; she now says that she would simply like her original face back. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3439638/Cosmetic-surgery-addict-injected-cooking-oil-into-her-own-face.html

Real poor that contrast with the Ultra Rich in financial wealth but "Poor in Happiness wealth index". Girl, 2, collects plastic bottles to raise funds for her own heart surgery FUZHOU, China - An remarkably sensible two-year-old female toddler, Xiaoxiao, has been collecting discarded plastic bottles to help raise funds for her 100,000 yuan (S$20,560) heart surgery.

According to a report on Shanghaiist, the adorable girl goes around collecting plastic bottles cheerfully, after watching her grandfather do the same. She has earned 50 yuan (S$10.28) from selling bottles in the past three months.
Xiaoxiao was diagnosed with congenital heart disease when she was four months old. According to reports, doctors informed her family that she has the best chance of making a full recovery if she receives surgery before the age of three. However, her parents, who own a small embroidery shop, had trouble raising the 100,000 yuan (S$20,560) needed for the medical procedure. They told reporters that they were in debt from frequent clinic visits as Xiaoxiao is often ill due to her weakened constitution. yourhealth.asiaone.com/content/girl-2-collects-plastic-bottles-raise-funds-her-own-heart-surgery#sthash.Q0m8z6MV.dpuf Crazy-Rich Serbian Bachelor Shows Off On The Internet To Find A Bride (27 pics)According to the Internet, he claims to be 39, living in St. Petersburg, and looking for a rather young girl, 16-20 years old, for marriage. Commendable effort for the little boy's earnest attitude towards learning. Unable to afford an alarm clock, boy walks to school every night Thursday, Dec 12, 2013 A small boy from Yunnan, China has to walk to school in the dark everyday at 10pm because he cannot afford an alarm clock. Xing Yu who is around 7 or 8 years old constantly fears that he would oversleep the next day and arrive late to school, thus he makes it a point to leave the house after 10 in the evening everyday, as reported by chinasmack.com.
The distance from his house to the school is 3 to 4 kilometres away and once he gets there, he waits until daybreak for the gates to open. However things took a positive turn on 25th November. Xing yu had bumped into a civil police officer named Li Xiaoci on the way to school.
Li Xiaoci took the little boy home and his dismal living conditions shocked the officer. The next day, the officer brought a little alarm clock to visit little Xing Yu, who was overwhelmed with joy as he received the clock. www.edvantage.com.sg//content/unable-afford-alarm-clock-boy-walks-school-every-night#sthash.bUtIZkSv.dpuf

Incredible will-power of this lady makes ordinary soul like me to shame to infuriate over trivial setbacks. 'How being blind helped me succeed': S'pore woman's remarkable story The few things I remember seeing are colours and the letters of the alphabet - at least, when they were written with a thick, black marker.
I have no memories of a human face, not even those of my parents.
These days, I rely on my walking cane and basic light perception. I can sense contrasts in light and dark, such as when someone shines a torch in my eyes. I was once asked whether being blind has ever stopped me from living a full life. I suppose it depends on how you define a 'full life'. I can't deny that my blindness is a limitation in a world that operates by sight. But if a FULL Life means ~~ making full USE of my Talents ~~~ and learning how to overcome challenges well,
being blind has helped me do that more than anything else has.
But my job-hunting experience made me reflect on how people tend to look at problems first. Growing up, I was constantly told that finding work would be tough. Some said my best bets were becoming a masseuse, telephone operator or a busker. I never considered those options. I suppose that's one of the first things being blind taught me. I learnt from a young age that I needed to Find SOLUTIONS to Challenges.
I learnt
===> NOT to say No ====> and NOT to Give up easily,
even when people felt that a task was too difficult for me.
So the thing I've learnt is this: There are solutions around us, if only we spend time figuring them out. If we go looking for a problem, we are definitely going to find some - problems are everywhere.Even a sighted person may, for various reasons, struggle in school or in a job, but that shouldn't stop her from trying. We all have to start somewhere. yourhealth.asiaone.com/content/how-being-blind-helped-me-succeed-spore-womans-remarkable-story

Sad case of drastic aging on the face after birth process for the 28 year old woman. Despite advance in technology, Cosmetic surgery is the only solution. Feel blessed that we are born healthy and normal.
True love is difficult to find... need to treasure your loved ones.
i.minus.com/imx0hIWleHkTs.pngChinese Woman, 28, Who Looks Like 80-Year-Old, Has Plastic Surgery At first glance, this Chinese woman -- with her drooping eyelids, wrinkles and puffy complexion -- could easily be mistaken for a grandmother in her eighties. So imagine HuffPost UK Lifestyle's surprise when we learned that she is just 28 years old. Yes, 28. Hu Junhua's face started to age dramatically seven years ago, not long after she gave birth to her son.
However, the reasons for the dramatic change in her face shape are not clear. Despite having been examined by numerous doctors, Hu Junhua's ageing condition is yet to be diagnosed. Fortunately for the young woman, a plastic surgeon recently stepped forward to offer her free treatment to restore her youthful looks.
According to Rex Features, before her surgery, Hu Junhua told reporters she would be very happy if the procedure could make her look like a person in her 30s or 40s.Hu Junhua says that her changed appearance has damaged her confidence and negatively affected family relationships.
"I dare not walk the streets and look into others' eyes," she said. "After I acquired the disease, I dare not look at myself in the mirror, and I can't pick up my child from the school. Even my husband keeps his distance from me." www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/01/23/chinese-woman-28-looks-old-plastic-surgery_n_2532346.html

Hi oldman, concur with your view, ability to manage the wealth wisely is indeed a crucial skill to master. Riches to rags: Why MOST lottery Winners End up BROKEHere’s an experiment for you: Place a small bowl of M&Ms (or your fattening/sugary vice of choice) right within reach. Leave it there all day and then count how many you ate. Think that was a test of self-control? Now try putting a huge bowl in the same place. We’d venture to guess you’ll end the day with as few left at the bottom as when you started out with less. Indeed, it’s hard to stop when it seems like you’re hardly making a dent. That’s because we tend to adjust our consumption based on what’s available to us – and we aren’t just talking about candy. Many people treat money the very same way. From lottery to bankruptcy
According to a 2010 study by researchers at Vanderbilt University, the University of Kentucky and the University of Pittsburgh, the more money you win in the lottery, the more likely you are to end up bankrupt.Similar research from the National Endowment for Financial Education estimates that 70 percent of people who had unexpectedly come into large sums of money ended up broke within seven years. Why big winners end up broke
But let’s say you beat the odds; you avoid death by lightning and win a big jackpot! It could happen. It happened to a 35-year-old resident of Hamilton, nine years ago. After scraping by on low-paying jobs and welfare, she cashed in a winning ticket for more than $10 million. But after travel and cars and other purchases ate up her fortune, she’s right back to where she started - becoming just one of many big lottery winners who went from rags to riches and back again. How could this happen? How could someone used to living on so much less spend all that money?
A million-dollar lesson Think back to that big bowl of candy. The bigger the bowl, the more you eat. The same is true for money. The bigger the sum, the more Indiscriminately you’re likely to SPEND it, believing that if the pile is deep enough, you’ll never have to worry about hitting the bottom. It’s the same fantasy for those who struggle financially and come up short every month. Whether you have an extra $10,000 or $10 million, the lesson is the same: If you dive in indiscriminately, it won’t be long before you’re scraping the bottom of the bowl. And whether you’re rich or poor, that’s one lesson worth at least a million bucks.
