I find there is a big empty space at the bottom of each short reply. There is no issue with long reply. It is partly due to the minimum height of the member's box on the left. My suggestion is to reduce the size of the Avatar, so that the minimum height required by the member's box will be reduced.

I have checked. Sadly, I cannot do anything about the empty space. I can increase the size of the avatar but I cannot decrease it! Minimum size of avatar is 150 by 150. What can be done however is to move the text in your Profile from Most Recent Status to Signature. This way, your mini profile with your avatar will be shorter. I have since moved mine and you can see the effect in this posting. Sorry for the delay in replying. I am still learning how to keep myself updated with the new threads. Thanks.

It is okay, Oldman. Thanks for taking time to reply our posts. I hope I am not asking too much, just trying to help make this forum a better place. On the green colour of your nick, can you make it darker (or bold it?)?

Puregold, I am having fun with the software. Yes, I too think that it should be darker green. I have changed it. With this software, there are 3 levels of customisation. Firstly, the app has a customisation interface. The dark green is customised using this first option. Then, one can add plugins or widgets. Thirdly, one can add in codes. I have been doing all three. The most fun is the third option... reminds me of the time I started shareinvestor.

Wish you good luck! You mentioned that proboard will put up ads soon. Are you allowed to put up your own ads like Google Adsense?

Wish you good luck! You mentioned that proboard will put up ads soon. Are you allowed to put up your own ads like Google Adsense? Proboard's free forum is on condition that one allows them to put up their ads to get some revenues. If one wants to remove these adverts, he has to pay Proboard based on the number of pageviews... something like US$12 a month for 100,000 pageviews. Then, he can put up his own adverts as otherwise, there will be too many adverts. My experience with Adsense is that unless viewers click on the adverts, one does not get anything. The click through rates for most websites is very very low. It is not that easy to make good money with Adsense. At the moment, I rather build up the community first and leave the hosting and business aspects to Proboard. I also believe that people make up the community and one day, I hope to identify individuals who help build up the community so that they can be recognised and incented accordingly. When I built up ShareInvestor, this had always been my wish but when I took in external shareholders, they had very different viewpoints.
Now, I have no need to take in shareholders and this makes it easier for me to do what I feel is right. With a firm foundation, I believe that I can build an even more substantial internet company that goes beyond stocks and shares. At the moment though, my primary focus is simply to build the community first. Without the community, everything is just "paperware".

Hi oldman, When one has attains financial freedom, it is indeed a choice to choose what suit one's liking. Looking forward to escape the rat race.
