odie, SMRT — Even down to S$1.12, there is still alot of meat on the plate for shorts. 1. Go long when stocks reach a new high. Sell short when they reach a new low.
2. A stock is never too high to buy and never too low to short.zuolun bro, i just need to practise more shorting my last smrt short wasn't so good and ended up with a small loss after i covered my short, 2 days later, the price went lower if only i waited a while more:)

odie, The STI is up 20+ points now but trading volume is rather low. Fund managers could have initiated "window-dressing" earlier than the usual end-of-the-month/year in Dec 2013. It would be a blessing if STI could end the year of 2013 at 3167 points... "A lost decade for Japan" Vs "A lost year for STI". Chart is similar to a compass if one knows how to use it correctly
When the stock markets of other Asian markets plunged big time in end-May to end-Jun 2013, they reflected the mass capitulation by Foreign Funds. As the S$/US$ has appreciated by 15% since 2009 and S'pore had underperformed other ASEAN countries in term of % GDP growth 2012, Foreign Funds were mostly absent at end-Dec 2012. So the impact of capitulation by Foreign Funds on the STI was not great as compared to other Asian markets. Thus, the tight trading range bet. 3167 - 3328 points in the 1H2013 suggested that the STI has been supported mainly by local Fund managers since the beginning of 2013. These local Fund managers only support the 2 major pillars of the S'pore economy; the properties and bank stocks. But properties and bank stocks are sensitive to sharp interest rates spikes which will negatively affect their qtrly earnings — that's a fundamental and inverse change. So if you're the local Fund managers with portfolios heavy on S'pore properties and bank stocks, would you consider increasing or paring down the 2 main categories of stocks at current prices which had corrected at the most 10%? Southeast Asia Bears Brunt of Market Chaos — 20 Jun 2013 STI (2H2013) — Range bound trading bet. 3167 - 3250

Zuolun bro, Thanks I am satisfied with 13 bids LOL odie, Due to severe short-squeeze SIA spiked immediately after you sold. This stock play 1 lot can do QIQO many rounds. 1 time = 13 bids, 10X = 130 bids, soon you end up as an egg collector.

You can have a nice buffet next week, I will pm to you another list of stocks for short-term long called "year-end-window-dressing" play, later. It's valid for one week because the play is once a year, only. One criteria is that, you've to wear red underwear to ensure LADY LUCK is with you! odie, After my group has finished compiling a list of stocks for probable trend reversal play (long for mid-term), I will pm it to you. You can take your time to pick and choose from the list, which is strictly based on TA. (Members do have privileges over non-members in this forum.)

Zuolun bro, Noted with thanks My last year end rally stocks were capmall Asia and Yanlord. Checked with nottibro, he mentioned that st engrg and sia also have chance for year end rally When make money, I normally donate to a charity, doesn't have to be a lot. A good friend who is out of the market for 2 months also donates when make money. P.S. My mom bought me red underwear before but too tight and doesn't fit. LOL

LOL odie, I've the complete list of 30 stocks earlier but many stocks are not my cup of tea. So I sieved thru and picked only those which I liked. As the selections are from the group, the main contributor have already bought some stocks last week. If you don't like certain stocks, just go thru the "selected list" and pick the best. BTW, I only contributed 3 out of the 30 stocks.

Zuolun bro, Many thanks for the lobang. I will monitor and jeep accordingly. odie, Don't rush, take you time to pick and choose, only select those you personally think got chance then get in. We can save some time on the screening/scanning of stocks but individual stock entry price and timing you still need to do your own assessment, especially those countertrend trades.

odie, Uptrend stocks with solid fundamentals have potential to buy high sell higher; long at retracement but watch out for the last burst of fire. If wrong run road fast, i.e. have a stop-loss to preserve capital. odie, Del Monte's chart pattern is the best to describe buying a strong uptrend stock just after the last burst of fire, bears the highest risk. The share price collapsed 41.9% from record high with the 3 dead crosses at the confluence of the 20d 50d 100d and 200d SMA. This is "Waterfall Decline" = 仙女散花Watch out for the dead cross and use it as a key indicator. Example: STI (10 Oct 2007 to 28 Oct 2008)
