"Kong Jiao Wei" literally means "to speak bird language". Long long time ago, there was a king, he was a bad king. he like to micro-manage. so he keep a close eye on his people and kills anyone who speak bad about him behind his back. ruling the country with fear so everyone "worship" him. One day, the citizen cannot take it anymore. wan to get back on this unreasonable king. so they come up with a new language that the king don't understand. mimic the birds chirping by whistling. overnight, the whole country is whistling, they were communicating without the king understanding a word they are talking. The king send his guards to capture one of the kingdom's most honored man, Gong Ji ao, and started to question him. but he simply reply the king with "We're just talking to the birds." the king got frustrated and killed him. Ji ao's death struck a revolution in the citizens. they decided to over throw him. so they started to organize a revolution without the king knowing until its too late. after the king is gone, the citizen re-take their kingdom and rename it to Gong Ji ao Kingdom to honor the hero. not far outside the kingdom, they erect a road sign "gongjiao way" to guide travelers to the kingdom. but the citizens cannot kick the habit of speaking in their unique language. the travelers could not understand a word they are talking. So whenever people dun understand another person's language, they say kong jiao wei.
