14-year-old jumps to his death after unaccompanied police interrogation "Five plainclothes police officers showed up at Benjamin’s school on Tuesday morning. He was taken away for questioning for allegedly outraging the modesty of an 11-year-old girl. Police shared that an anonymous neighbour had filed a report against Benjamin. On Monday, the 25th of January, he had allegedly followed the girl into a lift at a block of flats nearby, and molested her. Police also said that they had visited the school “to establish the identity of a student who was captured on closed-circuit television footage at the lift lobby of an HDB block”."

“I think it’s some ‘forces’ at work. It’s still a mystery.Reminds me of a story... The Appointment in Samarra“A merchant in Baghdad sends his servant to the marketplace for provisions. Shortly, the servant comes home white and trembling and tells him that in the marketplace he was jostled by a woman, whom he recognized as Death, and she made a threatening gesture. Borrowing the merchant’s horse, he flees at top speed to Samarra, a distance of about 75 miles, where he believes Death will not find him. The merchant then goes to the marketplace and finds Death, and asks why she made the threatening gesture. She replies, “That was not a threatening gesture, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra.” doakonsult.wordpress.com/2012/09/23/a-beautiful-short-story-the-appointment-in-samarra-2/

Second SCDF NS Boy to Commit Suicide in 6 Months Leaves Gut-Wrenching Last Note (19 Feb 2016) Another national service recruit from the Singapore Civil Defence Force has killed himself, making it the second suicide incident in the past 6 months. Edwin Ong Koon Chwee is believed to have taken his own life by leaping from the fourth floor of his barracks. He was found dead at the bottom of the block at about 3am today. Ong was part of the Charlie company 139th batch, and had just enlisted 3 days ago. He left a final note on his Facebook page, apologising for being a “useless son” and asking the public to help his mother. Ong added that he was “weak”, and that even though he might “burn in hell” he didn’t want to live in this “weird world” any longer. Suicide Epidemic: Why Does The Number Of People Killing Themselves Just Keep Going Up? (9 Feb 2016) Did you know that more Americans now die from suicide than are killed in car crashes each year? According to the CDC, there has been a substantial spike in suicide deaths in the United States in recent years. Today, approximately 9.3 million Americans admit to having suicidal thoughts, and approximately 2.7 million Americans each year actually make a plan for how they would commit suicide. We are a deeply, deeply unhappy nation, but of course this phenomenon is not just limited to America. According to the World Health Organization, suicide is now the third highest cause of death in the entire world. Globally, suicide rates have soared by 60 percent over the past 45 years, and the WHO is now projecting that by the year 2020 someone will be committing suicide somewhere in the world every 20 seconds.
