This might not be the correct forum but the politicians have recently aroused our interest and what they are about to discuss or do will always affect us whether or not we like it. This thread is not intended to start a political debates but just to voice one's frustration after having seen what has had happened in our political scene.
The sparring in the Parliament has now turned the stage into one teaching the other on how to behave and how to do his work properly. They even counted the occasions when one has done a good job.
This is an Internet age, quite sure all of us are fully aware of what has just happened and whether one has done his job properly. There can be a lot of debates on whether the job done is up to standard but do they have spend so much time and effort in teaching each other on whether one has done his jobs better and arguing on what should be done and what should not? Are they not suppose to spend more time discussing the bread and butter issues that the citizen has had?
Right in front of us are grievances and many unhappy voices coming out of our dear citizens. PM is suing one of his citizens for defamation for something that could have arose from misunderstanding or might have been easily avoided if the Government had had communicated its intends properly.
At the moment, Singaporeans are generally quite happy about the CPF scheme. Many gave praises when they compared the CPF to the western countries’ Pension and social security scheme but at the same time, they are puzzling why Malaysia and Hong Kong can get good returns for their EPF and Provident Funds and Singapore cannot? Why Singaporeans must forego their minimum sums upfront for a CPF life scheme that can’t offer full guarantee of a monthly payment in their golden years and when they think they might not have the chance to enjoy it.
Yes. The Government is beginning to become aware of these unhappy voices and they are looking into this issue but do the citizens have to wait every time to get some results only when some one started to defame the PM? Can’t our politicians, the governing party and the oppositions, sit and work together and check each other to pre-empt and to prevent this sort of problem from rising again. Yet, they are now sitting there and telling each another how to do one’s work and if one had done his jobs properly.
