My autogate gave trouble again. It appeared that the bolt was not able to be lifted from the gate frame. I opened this up and thought that it was a selenoid issue. Tried a few things with the selenoid but none of these work. I then called William Koh and he came within the same day and identified that it was just the cable connecting the selenoid to the motherboard. He replaced this wire quickly and charged me a $180. My auto gate was not working properly and after a search on the internet, I found this website : www.automaticgaterepair.com.sg/ and spoke to a William Koh. He was most friendly and was trying to help me diagnosed the issue with my gate and even went so far as to give free advice to see if that sorted out the problem! I told him that I preferred him to come over and this morning, he came over. He immediately saw that the top casing to one of the gates was cracked and told me that water has already seeped through that casing. When the casing was removing, there was lots of water collected in it and this was why when it rained, it was harder to open the auto gate. He then replaced the top casing and mechanism but the way he did this also amazed me. For those of us skilled in DIY, we can see the difference between someone who wanted to get the job done quickly and someone who did it as if he was repairing his own gate. William very obviously was the latter. I then asked him whether he can show me how to change the code to the gate and without hesitation, he showed this to me and even showed me the other aspects of the circuit board and how to change the timing of the individual gates! When he saw a lizard in the circuit box, he immediately sealed off all the entrances to the circuit board with silicone and told me that lizards are dangerous in circuit boards as they can short the circuit boards. It was such a pleasure talking to him that I spent the hour chatting while he repaired the gate. Very informative guy and I will certainly recommend him for anything to do auto-gate repairs.

I am having some issues with choked toilet. Basically, this toilet will start to "burp" or gurgitate every 7 days. After a good toilet pumps, it will be well. Initially, I suspected the toilet cubicle may have some items stuck in the U shape drain but was not. More or less confirmed by taking out the whole cubicle and did manual auguring reverse and forward. Bought an 3 metres electric augur recently which allows me to reach the lower floor branch pipe. Have to take out the whole toilet cubicle this coming weekend. Really stinks to the sky. If it really solved the problem, I can be a plumber.

Old Man, you have a good problem; hehe...only people who live in a landed property have a chance to experience this type of problem. Most Singaporean just need to call Town Council.... Yes, rather expensive but I guess nowadays professional services don't come cheap. Perhaps, if you need autogate repair work, best to call him first to get a preliminary quote. A few years back, I faced the same problem. There was a choke in one of the main outlet pipes. Got this guy over who opened the septic pipe outside the house and pumped and sucked away for a few hours! The smell throughout the neighbourhood was one of a kind! Paid him a few hundred dollars but really felt that his was hard earned money. He was dressed entirely in a plastic garment and excreta was every where. What a job but am glad to have found someone able to sort out the issue in the middle of the night! I am having some issues with choked toilet. Tell me about it.(The stench!) I will be fully masked and gloved to handle this job. Really needs lot of luck for this 'shit' job. A few years back, I faced the same problem. Town Council is responsible for Main Pipe. Branch pipe at lower floor is the responsibility of the upper floor resident. To access the lower floor branch pipe, HDB must be contacted for arrangement and not Town Council. For condominium plumbing repairs, I am wondering what is the arrangement? Pain, before you undertake this one of a kind job, you may want to try to give this plumber a call. He is Ah Lye. Speaks Mandarin only and hp: 92382010. His rates are very reasonable.... do ask him as I really forgot what these are. I called him a few times when my kitchen sink got blocked a few times. He had to cut through the pipings as the blockage was quite bad. When I saw how bad it was, I thanked my lucky stars that I did not try to remove the blockage with one of those anti choke devices as I am sure the pipings will then be in a much worse situation. Good luck. Town Council is responsible for Main Pipe. Branch pipe at lower floor is the responsibility of the upper floor resident. Oldman, 1 month ago, I have finally settled the 'burping' toilet after I bought the 3 m toilet auger. (Needs time to monitor). Took out the whole toilet bowl, withstood the stench and at last a good working toilet. During the few months, I did many 'research' through internet on toilet chokes and 'burping toilets'. With this fervor, I should have directed this into Investments and more rewarding. With DIY interior painting, yes, this place is ready for rental, finally. I called William Koh again as my autogate had problems closing. He immediately identified the problem over the phone and told me to disable the photobeam sensor. As I really don't know where this is on the motherboard, I called him to come over to fix it for me. He told me that his normal charge rate is $80 per trip plus an additional amount to cover his time and replacements. After searching around, I realised that his rates are reasonable as he usually comes within the same day, or usually within hours of my call. Guess, I was not familiar with the charge rates of household professionals. Within 5 minutes, he sorted out the problem and I will still recommend him for autogate repairs. He knows his stuff and sorts out the problem within the same day. My autogate gave trouble again. It appeared that the bolt was not able to be lifted from the gate frame. The installer at Novita
My wife recently bought a Novita hot and cold water dispenser and it came with free installation. As installation to me means that the device has to be connected to the water mains, I assumed that they will send a plumber to do the installation.
As I am still recovering from my medical illness, I left it to my wife to sort out the installation. Halfway through the installation, there were screams heard as the installer knocked into one of the main water pipes and it started leaking. What happened next shocked me. He packed up and quickly rushed out of the house. When I asked him whether he has contacted any more senior plumber, he told me that it was our responsibility to do do!
My goodness. This guy damages your water pipe and then runs off leaving you to sort out the mess. Yes, that was what he did. He ran out of the house and we had to call an emergency plumber to fix the leakage. After telling the plumber what had happened, this plumber was nice to have put in a splitter so that no further damage can be done by the installer.
My wife who is a super nice person called up Novita and did not tell them about the issues with this installer. So, while I was asleep, the installer came, took photos of the splitter ( assume that he will then tell HQ that he fixed this! ) and then connected this to the dispenser.
I really don't know know whether to laugh or to cry. Just that I hope none of you buy any stuff from Novita that needs to be installed! My wife's reasoning is that that jobs are scarce nowadays and we do not want to take away jobs from locals. I see it differently as this guy should not be pretending to be able to do something he is not capable of as sooner or later, he will create a major problem which he nor his company can sort out that readily.

My god. Truly all kinds of people in this world. Irresponsible and incompetent installer. Big hearted and forgiving "oldwoman".
I probably would've exploded.
