Not sure if this exists in SGX. But i have friends are doing well in China stock market.
i attended a local seminar on Forex trading with software and the software is selling 2k and about 80% of buyers are making money at 2-4% per month(with leverage) by following the exact buying and selling signal from the software. Yes the speed is very critical then.

The stock market is a zero sum game. If all the high speed traders claim they are making money, then obviously they are making money off someone else. My suspicion is that this is mostly at the expense of the least sophisticated investors (which includes me). Not too sure about the utility of such a system for the market in general. But since it generates volume, I am sure the stock exchanges will be encouraging it.
