The money game teaches you how to manage money. Every time you post in this forum, you will earn 5 Pertama dollars. You can then deposit this in the Bank and earn interests at 6% a year (the system will add in the interest on a daily basis) Or, you can choose to invest this money in the stock market. The stock market shows the stock prices for selected US stocks (eg, Yahoo, Apple, eBay, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, HP, IBM ). We are not able to change any of these stocks but we can rename them. Of course, one of the stocks has been changed to Pertama.com! The prices and charts display the latest prices on a regular basis (please see picture below). Please note that you need to have Pertama dollars to invest in the stock market. This means that you will have to go to the Bank tab and then take money from your bank account to put into Pertama dollars. Pertama dollars is best seen as your current account while the bank account is your savings account. There are bonuses in place where you will receive money every now and then depending on the number of postings that you have made and several other criteria. And for those who like to be moderators, you will earn a monthly wage of 2,000 Pertama dollars which will be put into your bank account automatically every month. Yes, very much like the real world. To start off, do register in this forum ( login.proboards.com/register/5454678 ) and then at the bottom left hand side of the website, you will find a small toolbar appearing. Click on the gift icon to receive 500 Pertama dollars to start you off (please see pictures below). Have fun! Access the bank and stock game through the icons at the bottom right hand side of the screen:

Hi oldman, Just curious, is it possible to view the investing results of all registered users? The current version does not have this feature. One day, I hope to make use of this module and create a fun game and tweak the system to allow others to view the results. But not yet as I am still tweaking the basic features first. Thanks.

I have removed the Bank and Stock Game links at the top navigation bar as I have added in Recent Topics. To go to these features, please use the icons at the bottom left hand side of your screen. Thanks.

Hi oldman, Just wonder whether it is possible to utilise Singapore stock names which we are more familiar with? Sadly, no. The codes are written by someone in the US and even for them, they cannot change any of the stocks in the list apart from renaming the stocks. The reason I incorporated this feature is because I think our young can benefit from this applet. They can learn about investing and can buy and sell stocks and see how the things happening in the world affects the stocks that they have selected. Good thing is that most of the US stocks selected are well known ones and I am sure they can identify with most of these stocks.
