Wendy’s Singapore closes last outlets, pulls out of Singapore again ~ 1 May 2015  Wendy’s Singapore reminds me of the downfall of my favourite “A&W” restaurants in Singapore... “A&W”: Singapore's first fast food restaurantA&W Restaurant is a chain of fast food restaurants from Lodi, California in 1923. Their company name was taken from the surname initials of founder Roy W.Allen and co-founder Frank Wright. Today their franchise locations could be found throughout much of the world, serving a typical fast food menu of hamburgers, french fries and hot dogs. One thing unites them all: the root beer float. That perfect combo of sugar and frothy ice cream. Just the thought of it makes me feel nostalgic about this ‘All American Food’ we once had and the memories made enjoying it. Lets vote for them to bring A&W back to Singapore. Some Corn Dog Nuggets and Polar Swirls on the side sounds like a plan too.

Bro Zuolun, Your post reminds me too of the A&W which was in the middle of Bukit Timah and Dunearn Road. This A&W was located above the Bukit Tima Canal . In the late sixty, it was such a big event then when my BIL brought me there for root beer and burger .  |

Bro Zuolun, The page is in Japanese. Do you read Japanese ? , Yes, I could read Japanese better in the late-70's after having completed a Japanese language course (advanced level). But after 4 decades, I had returned most of the stuffs to my Japanese teacher due to lack of practice. Now I'm only able to appreciate Japanese songs in 'Kanji', 'romaji', 'hiragana' , but not those written in 'katakana'. BTW, I remembered the orignal website of 'Tastes Of Yesteryear (回味当年)' was not the current one when i posted it on 8 nov 2013. I love to listen to this song, 淚光閃閃 in Japanese more than in Chinese, 陪我看日出。 涙そうそう 淚光閃閃陪我看日出 |

The standard of Japanese musical culture was already the highest in Asia 50 years ago. 大哥特爱飘雪. 是否记忆怀念爱人或是曾经为情所困 ? , 飘雪 is a very sad song which my engineer friend always sang in the kara-oke in the early-90's. He was 10 years my senior then. He made a wrong choice in life when choosing a life partner and ended in divorce. 娶错老婆生错孩子。 However, I believed it was fated because he actually had a good 8-year relationship with his childhood girlfriend yet he married a Japanese wife whom he knew only 3 months when doing training in Japan.
